Dorothy Malone has been prominent in films since the 1940s and was one of the last survivors of the golden age of classic cinema, passing away in January 2018. Some of her most successful works include her roles alongside Bacall and Bogart in The Big Sleep (1946) and Artists and Models, where she starred alongside Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin.
But her most notable films were those in which she starred under the direction of Douglas Sirk, such as Words on the Wind (1956), where she played the rebellious daughter of a millionaire, and The Tainted Ones (1957), where she played a woman married to a man who humiliated her. In all three films, she starred alongside Rock Hudson and Robert Stark. The actress won an Oscar for her roles in Words on the Wind (1956).
She returned to work alongside Rock Hudson in Last Sunset (1961), which also featured Kirk Douglas.
