Montgomery-Clift

Montgomery Clift (1920–1966): Um belo homem atormentado. Um ator fenomenal, que nos presenteou com grandes interpretações em Um Lugar ao Sol (1951), De Repente, no último Verão (1959) e A Árvore da Vida (1957)

Born on October 17, 1920, in Omaha, Montgomery Clift made his acting debut at the age of 13. Alongside Marlon Brando, Clift was one of the first members of the famous Actors Studio in New York and was an equally brilliant actor. Handsome, sensitive, and intelligent, he was persuaded to leave Broadway for Hollywood and received an Oscar nomination for his very first film, The Search (1948).

He went on to earn three more Oscar nominations for his performances in A Place in the Sun (1951), From Here to Eternity (1953), and Judgment at Nuremberg (1961). Montgomery specialized in portraying introspective and insecure characters, a trait that deepened tragically after a car accident in 1957 left him disfigured and sparked rumors about his struggles with alcohol and drugs.

In The Misfits (1961), he co-starred with Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable, both of whom passed away shortly after filming ended. During the production of Freud: The Secret Passion (1962), in which he played the title role, Clift underwent eye surgery. He died at the age of 45 from a heart attack.
