Diana Mary Fluck, her real name, was born on October 23, 1931 in Wiltshire, England. The actress always loved movies and entered the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art at the age of 24. After participating in several plays, she was called to act in some films. At the age of 16, after making a few appearances, she signed a contract and appeared in films without much prestige, such as The Calendar (1948) and Good-Time Girl (1948). Interestingly, she had a small role in a strong film, Olier Twist (1958). Her performances in English comedies led her to be called to RKO in Los Angeles, to do tests. There, she made The Shame of Being Profane (1957) alongside Rod Steiger and Venus of Flesh (1958). You can clearly see from the titles that she intended to make her a sex symbol. Due to scandals in Hollywood, she lost her reputation there and returned to England.
In the 1960s, she appeared in several films and also recorded an album. Her fame began to wane in the 1970s and she began to gain a lot of weight. She became a regular guest on the BBC radio program. The actress discovered in the 1980s that she had cancer. Four years later, on May 4, 1984, she lost her battle with the disease. She died on May 4, 1984.
