Charlton Heston (1923–2008): Sua carreira iniciou-se com a década de 50 e ele foi muito requisitado em papéis religiosos como Os Dez Mandamentos (1956) e Ben-Hur (1959). Sua carreira durou até pouco tempo antes de sua morte, em 2008.

John Charlton Carter was born in Illinois on October 4, 1924. He showed an interest in theater since he was a child, and while still young he enrolled in theater classes. In one of these classes he met Lydiua Marie Clarke, who would later become his wife, with whom he had two children. The two worked together in several plays, including a production of “Antony and Cleopatra”. His first film was “Julius Caesar” (1949), directed by David Bradley. The film paved the way for his success. Previously, the two had worked together in Perr Gynt (1942).

Among his successful films are “The Greatest Show on Earth” (1951), by Cecil B. DeMille; “The Naked Jungle” (1954), by Byron Haskin; “The Secret of the Incas” (1954), by J. Hopper; “Far Horizons” – 1955, “The Ten Commandments” – 1956, by C. B. DeMille, and “Touch of Evil” – 1958, by Orson Welles, Ben-Hur (1960) and El Cid (1961).

His filmography during the 60s is completed with films such as “55 Days at Peking” – 1963, “The Agony and the Ecstasy”, 1965, “The War Lord” – 1965 and “The Planet of the Apes” – 1968.

Along with his artistic figure, which is completed with another 70 plays and six books, Heston also had a strong political side, being known as the last bastion of conservatives in Hollywood. The actor died at the age of 84 at his home, surrounded by his wife and children.
